Ballast Water Treatment Systems

A turn-key solution for ballast water treatment systems

Saltwater provides a full-service engineering solution to ensure vessels are compliant with regulations and guidelines on ballast water management. Our team of engineers and naval architects is ready to assist in both the selection and placement of the required ballast water treatment system.

Following the International Convention for the Control and Management of Ship’s Ballast Water and Sediments (in short: BWM Convention), vessels are required to comply with regulations on managing ballast water. Although the push for guidelines on handling ballast water is broadly supported by the industry, many shipowners and operators are struggling to meet the set requirements and deadlines.

A turn-key solution
Saltwater offers a turn-key solution for the placement of ballast water treatment systems (BWTS) on vessels. Our team assists in the selection of BWTS but also offers a complete engineering package needed to install the system. Our integrated, full-service solution ensures vessels are compliant while minimizing the hassle for owners and operators.

Moving forward
Over 68.000 vessels are impacted by the guidelines set by the BWM Convention and by 2024 all ships will have to meet the D2 standard (which in most cases require the installation of a BWTS). Contact us to assess what is needed for you to be compliant.
