Design and stability calculations

Stability calculations
Design stability calculations for the Fast4Ward Multi-Purpose Floater (MPF) for SBM offshore have been carried out. This work started in 2015 with initial calculations. At the moment, different vessels are under development at a shipyard in China. These hulls are used together with topside modules to form modular Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessels (FPSO’s). Different colleague’s within the Saltwater team have been working on this project.

Fast4Ward program
Key benefits of Fast4Ward are reducing cycle time to energy delivery, de-risking projects and improving quality and safety. Standardizing the design and the execution of projects, facilitating repeatability and the knock-on benefits.

Liza Unity FPSO
The Liza Unity FPSO design is the first FPSO built to SBM Offshore’s Fast4Ward program as it incorporates the company’s new build, multi-purpose hull combined with several standardized topsides modules. The FPSO will be designed to produce 220,000 boepd, will have associated gas treatment capacity of 400 MMcfd and water injection capacity of 250,000 bpd. The FPSO will be spread moored in water depth of about 1,600 meters and will be able to store around 2 MMbbl of crude oil. The Liza field is located circa 200 kilometers offshore Guyana in the Stabroek block. Saltwater performed stability calculations, weight calculations and various drawings for the project. The drawing approval was also performed on behalf of SBM for yard drawings during the building stage.
