Custom Yacht building
The key design feature of this yacht was a one level, stepless design for both the interior day area and the exterior, due to the immobility of the owner’s child. Our in-house design team developed a beautifully lined yacht with striking stainless steel details. As with many things is the success of such a project in the details. The limited space available required “smart engineering solutions” for the flush opening and closing of the bulwark door and the aft sliding door providing access to the interior of the yacht.
Specialized engineering
Yacht owners and shipyards often require modifications to their vessels, from integrating a large Jacuzzi on the sun deck to accommodating a touch and go landing area for various helicopter types or actually extending the vessel to create a longer sleeker design. All these variations involve complex engineering solutions in order to maintain both esthetics and structural integrity of the vessel. Saltwater has amassed a wealth of experience in the yachting industry from our close working relationship with several Dutch yacht builders.
Our engineering skills and relevant experience in the shipbuilding industry, with a client such as Damen (Amels), is what sets us apart from our competitors. Integrating multiple “standard” components in a 3D environment is something we have mastered for many years. This results in the most efficient usage of the available space within your yacht. The application of high-end engineering techniques such as direct (Finite Element) calculations results in an optimum between strength, stiffness and weight of your project.
Structural design
The esthetic design cannot be separated from the engineering, a seamless integration with for example the structural design of your yacht will allow you to get the maximum out of your project. A smooth curved superstructure of a yacht is so much more than just an appealing sight, you need to consider the correct structural design and apply the correct details for the application of the fairing system and the placement of the (frameless) windows which provide the yacht the final touch.
