Saltwater hits fresh ground!
With a festive opening, Saltwater Engineering celebrated the official inauguration of its new office in the Kopgebouw at the Leerpark in Dordrecht. The move marks the next step in the growth of the maritime engineering firm, which is committed to innovation, collaboration, and talent development. During the event, Saltwater also announced a donation to Stichting Leergeld, as an investment in future technical talent.
The official opening of the new office at the Leerpark marked the highlight of the two-day event “Saltwater Hits Fresh Ground.” During this festive occasion, clients, partners, educational institutions, and colleagues came together to celebrate a new chapter for Saltwater Engineering. Visitors were introduced to inspiring projects, innovative concepts, and the people behind the success of the engineering firm.
The new location in the Kopgebouw not only provides Saltwater with space to continue growing but also strengthens collaboration with educational and knowledge partners in the region. “Our move is about much more than square meters,” says CEO Sander Broekmeulen. “We want to create an environment where young engineers can learn, collaborate, and develop within the maritime sector. That’s essential for the future of our industry.”
A gesture that connects
A special moment during the event was the donation to Stichting Leergeld. The amount collected by the guests was matched by Saltwater, bringing the total to an impressive €5,000. This gesture highlights the company’s commitment to fostering young technical talent and strengthening the connection between technology, education, and society. “The donation to Stichting Leergeld perfectly symbolizes what Saltwater stands for: working together to create opportunities for young technical talent,” says Sander Broekmeulen, CEO of Saltwater Engineering. “The fact that our guests contributed and that we could double the amount together makes it even more meaningful.”
Dordrecht as a home port for innovation and knowledge
The move to Dordrecht aligns with Saltwater’s strategy to promote innovation and knowledge development within the maritime sector. Saltwater works closely with regional educational institutions such as Da Vinci College and Avans University of Applied Sciences, and supports initiatives that contribute to technical education. Collaboration with organizations like Deal Drechtsteden further strengthens the region’s position as a maritime knowledge hub.
