The City of Utrecht awarded the building of a new “Beer Boat” to the Bocxe Shipyard in Delft, the Netherlands. This “Beer Boat” is to be used to supply the restaurants and bars along the city’s waterways in an efficient and environmentally friendly manner.

Saltwater Engineering took the existing design supplied by the yard and modified it with a few subtle changes to improve the overall performance of the vessel. After the design was complete Saltwater generated the general construction plans and the final section drawings with the corresponding nesting data.

The vessel can be operated by a single person and has an electric propulsion system to meet the stringent environmental regulation of Utrecht. Furthermore the vessel is equipped with a hydraulic crane to easily load and unload the roll containers that are used by the restaurants and bars.
