Upgrade - Allseas mv Manta III |

Allseas asked Saltwater to deliver a complete design package for a significant upgrade of the mv Manta III. This upgrade included the completion of numerous FEM calculations and design drawings.
This upgrade involved several different aspects of the vessel, ranging from the integration of towing equipment all the way to updating the safety plans. The following list delivers an overview of the works completed:
- Design and integration of a GOG eye – SWL 160 tons
- Integration of a 15 ton tugger winch
- Design and integration of wire stoppers on the guard rails
- Integration of 200 tons shark jaws on the aft deck
- Integration of towing pins
- Integration of telescope crane on the foredeck
- Design and integration of supports for davits from a work boat and a rescue boat
- Modifications of a ballast tank to fuel oil tanks and a storage area
To complete the works most items were modeled in a 3D calculation software package in which a detailed FEM analysis was completed. Once the calculations met the requirements the design drawings and other documentation was prepared.
