Amels LE199 - Structural Design |
|
|
At the Monaco Yacht Show 2009 Amels revealed the LIMITED EDITIONS AMELS199, the latest addition to the highly successful “LIMITED EDITIONS” range. Saltwater Engineering has provided additional engineering capacity to Amels as well as supplying specific expertise.
Once Amels had completed the both the exterior and interior styling Saltwater Engineering was contracted to generate the structural design of both the hull and superstructure of the vessel. In order to generate these general construction drawings Saltwater completed numerous calculations ranging from scantlings to FEM analyses. Furthermore Saltwater Engineering also worked in close cooperation with the classification society to ensure that the vessel scantlings met all the requirements for Special Service Craft.
As a result of our close contact with Amels we were able to integrate several of the main outfitting items directly into the general construction plans. Among others this included stairways, tender bays with overhead cranes, transom doors and the shaft line. Integrating these major items into the general construction drawings makes it easier for the yard to complete the next phase of the engineering process, namely the detail workshop drawings.
After the completion of these works Saltwater Engineering was once again contracted to complete the structural design of integrating a touch and go helipad on the front of the superstructure. This structural design was once again completed used the latest FEM technology.
