In early 2011 Mainport contracted Saltwater Engineering to complete the engineering package for an upgrade for the seismic support vessel Dina Alliance. Numerous areas of the vessel were implicated in this upgrade, among which were the integration of a container foundation, a quick release towing hook integration and a raised davit with access platform.
 Production of the towing hook
Our practical approach combined with state of the art software packages allowed us to engineer the upgrade with a little as possible impact on the existing structure of the vessel. Whenever possible we attempted to integrate the items into the vessel without adding structural items below the deck. This avoids clashes with the outfitting of the vessel as well as with the insulation and paint system of the interior spaces.

Saltwater’s services included the design, calculation and drafting of the integration of the items into the vessel. All our works were submitted to the American Bureau of Shipping in London for approval.
