Since the summer of 2010 Saltwater Engineering has been involved in numerous different projects for Rederij Groen based at the harbor of Scheveningen. Rederij Groen is specialized in guard and seismic support operations and has an extensive fleet catering to the offshore market.

Initially Saltwater Engineering was contracted to offer its expertise for stability and trim related matters for a couple of Groen’s vessels. These vessels tended to be a little “heavy” at the fore end resulting in a unfavorable trim of the vessels. After completing the necessary trim and stability calculations the existing tank arrangement of the vessel was modified. Saltwater completed all calculations and delivered detailed workshop drawings to the yard where the vessels were modified.

The results of these intial works were very positive and we were awarded a new engineering challenge almost immediately. The new job required detailed FEM calculations and workshop drawings to integrate a quick release towing hook onto the aft deck of two vessels.

Other works that have been completed for Rederij Groen range from generating GA’s for tender purposes, updating safety plans, cargo securing manuals, intact stability booklets and structural works.
