MLV Alubouw has awarded the deisgn of a new 8,5m sloop to Saltwater Engineering.

Saltwater Engineering will design a round bilged aluminum sloop of roughly 8,5m x 2,7m. The sloop is to be a combination of a modern underwater lines and old fashioned appearance.

The project is a showcase of old fashioned boatbuilding techniques with modern materials. Using Saltwater's 3D model, MLV Alubouw will build the double curved aluminum hull entirely by hand.

The sloop is to be completed in early 2008 ready for the HISWA.
