Load out of former French submarine ‘Quessant’ was successfully completed by Jumbo’s Fairpartner. The submarine arrived in the waters off Malacca on Sunday, 13 November, after a 32-day journey at sea which started in Brest, France.

Amels LE199 - Kiel Canal |

On October 28, 2011 the yet unnamed hull of the new Amels LE199 superyacht type was towed through the Kiel Canal westwards towards the Amels shipyard for completion. The yacht is the first of the new Amels LE199 design, featuring a remarkable reverse bow.

Jumbo successfully loads submarine |

On Sunday 09th October 2011 Jumbo’s Fairpartner successfully loaded the former French submarine ‘Quessant’ bound for Malaysia. There the submarine will be displayed in a museum. Transporting the submarine from France to Malaysia was a challenging operation, because of the fragile outer skin and the weight of the submarine. In cooperation with Saltwater Engineering Jumbo Shipping completed the strength calculations for both the submarine and the hoisting cradles.

ISO 9001:2008 Certification |

Saltwater Engineering has experienced a significant change in the past few months. On the 13th of January 2010 Saltwater Engineering received the NEN-EN-ISO 9001:2008 certification from Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance after several months of preparation, and covers all aspects of the operational structures within Saltwater.
Using the quality management system Saltwater Engineering aims to further enhance customer satisfaction as well as to increase the efficiency of the engineering processes. Furthermore the ISO 9001:2008 strengthens Saltwater Engineering’s position in the offshore market and also it opens new opportunities for tendering government contracts.

Blue Peter Racing Days 2009 |

For the last few years Saltwater Engineering has been sponsoring the Blue Peter Racing Days for small flat-bottomed sailing vessels. This year the event will take place from 19 to 21 October. To further promote the event a new website and logo have been launched.
